The Inland Empire Chapter of the Brew Witches (the Brewwitches) has a simple mission: Supporting Women Who Love Craft Beer.
Brewwitches strives to advance feminism in the local craft beer community by building relationships and creating a healthy and equal environment for our members and all who participate in Brewwitches events. Nothing is more important than the wellbeing of our members. Thus, all members will work together to ensure that each member acts as her best self, and as a representation of the highest ideals of our organization.
This Code of Conduct exists to guide each member’s behavior.
Members have a right to:
(a) Be treated fairly, equally, and with respect by the Brewwitches organization and its members.
(b) Socialize in an environment free from all forms of harassment, discrimination, disparagement, and bullying.
(c) Privacy and confidentiality concerning a member’s personal information, unless consent is otherwise provided.
(d) Participate in and be informed of all Brewwitch events and offerings.
(e) Voice their opinions, respectfully, to other members and to leadership.
(f) Be held accountable, kindly, by other members when they deviate from this Code of Conduct or the ideals of the Brewwitches.
Members must:
(a) Go beyond treating others with respect; Brewwitches members are expected to be an upstanding example of courtesy, acceptance, and inclusion.
(b) Help one another improve and grow, providing support and accountability.
(c) Treat other members, guests, staff of venues, and other patrons fairly, equally, and with respect and courtesy.
(d) Behave responsibly and ensure they conduct themselves in a manner which will not injure the reputation of the Brewwitches, its members, organizers, or sponsors.
(e) Not physically or verbally harass others.
(f) Not abuse their membership privileges by lending membership cards, or using a membership discount for nonmembers.
(g) Abide by and uphold this Code of Conduct; encourage one another to abide by this Code.
(h) Report any inappropriate behavior of a member Brewwitches leadership for action and follow up.
Member Responsibilities around Drinking: Brewwitches frequently conducts events at venues where adults can purchase and consume alcohol. In the spirit of our mission and ideals, Brewwitches requires its members to behave responsibly with respect to alcohol consumption.
(a) Brewwitches have a duty to themselves, to one another, and to the organization to drink responsibly.
(b) Brewwitches will ensure that fellow members, and others, remain safe if they choose to drink. This responsibility may include ‘cutting off’ a fellow member, ensuring a member has safe transportation home, or deescalating or intervening in a disagreement.
Breaches of this Code of Conduct:
(a) Any member not behaving in accordance with the terms of the Code of Conduct at an event may be asked to leave a function.
(b) The inappropriate behavior of any members will be investigated, discussed and an appropriate course of action will be taken by the Board of Directors, which may include a reprimand, suspension or revocation of membership.
The Brew Witches are proud of our Code of Conduct.
We expect each member to adhere to its terms, and to honorably represent our group.
